Panorama Equipment Packing List
A practical panorama equipment packing list for cameras, lenses, support, power, storage, cleaning, and backups.
Capture and support
Choose the camera and lens that suit the required field of view and image quality. Pack a stable tripod, a head that allows controlled rotation, and any calibrated or marked equipment needed to keep the camera position repeatable.
Bring a remote release or use a self-timer when touching the camera could move it. If the assignment includes a nadir replacement, pack the support or extension method that makes that frame practical.

- Small flashlight and measuring or marking tape when useful
Power and data
Carry charged batteries and the correct charger or power bank, but do not rely on a power bank unless the camera supports it safely. Pack more formatted memory than the planned sequence requires and confirm the cards are compatible with the camera.
If you can back up in the field, bring a tested card reader and a separate destination drive. Keep at least one copy physically separate from the camera bag during travel.
Maintenance and contingencies
A blower, clean microfiber cloth, and appropriate lens-cleaning supplies can prevent dust from appearing across every frame. Add rain protection, a basic multi-tool, cable ties, and a protective bag when the location or weather calls for them.
Pack a backup approach for the most likely failure: a second battery, a second card, a manual release method, or a simple way to mark tripod position. Avoid carrying unfamiliar accessories that have not been tested with the camera.

Pack-out check
Before leaving, compare the bag with the assignment brief rather than memory. Complete this sequence: 1. Charge and test the camera. 2. Confirm empty cards and a backup destination. 3. Assemble and rotate the tripod head. 4. Check the cleaning and weather kit. 5. Photograph or record the packed kit if equipment accountability matters.
After the shoot, separate exposed cards from empty ones, recharge equipment, clean only as needed, and return each item to its known place.
